Terms of Use

These terms describe the understanding between you, a reader, and the company that operates Filsou Kitchin (filsou.com). By opening and using this website you accept them. They are deliberately written to be readable, because terms nobody understands protect nobody.

1. What this site is

Filsou Kitchin is an editorial publication about Jamaican home cooking made without vegetable oil. It offers recipes, cooking notes and food writing, free of charge. Nothing on this site is sold, and the site takes no orders and processes no payments of any kind.

2. Permission to use the content

We give you a personal, non exclusive, revocable permission to read the site and to cook from it. You may print a recipe for your own kitchen, share a link to any page, and adapt the dishes at home as you please. Cooking a recipe and serving it to family, friends or even paying guests is entirely yours to do; a method is not something we could or would police.

3. What stays ours

The written text, the arrangement of the recipes, the site name, the site design and the overall compilation are the intellectual property of the operating company or its licensors. Republishing our text wholesale on another website, in a book, or in an app, without written permission, is not allowed. Photography displayed on the site is used under license from its respective photographers and remains theirs.

4. Acceptable conduct

You agree not to do the following, all of which are common sense: attempting to breach or probe the security of the site, scraping the entire site by automated means, using the content to train systems that reproduce it verbatim, misrepresenting the site as your own work, or using the site in any way that breaks an applicable law.

5. Recipes are information, not advice

Every recipe is written with care and tested before publication, but cooking happens in your kitchen, with your equipment, your ingredients and your judgment. You are responsible for safe food handling, correct cooking temperatures, and checking ingredients against your own allergies and dietary requirements. 6. Third party links and services

Pages may link to outside websites, and advertising on the site may be delivered by third parties such as Google. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content or their practices. Our Privacy Policy explains the advertising relationship in detail.

7. No promises about availability

We intend to keep the site online and accurate, but we provide it as is and as available. We cannot promise uninterrupted access, and we may edit, replace or remove content at any time without notice, including these terms themselves. When we materially change the terms, the revision date above changes with them.

8. Limits of responsibility

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operating company will not be liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from the use of this website or from cooking its recipes. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us to use the site, which is nothing.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Brazil, and any dispute connected to them will be submitted to the courts of the city of São Paulo, State of São Paulo, with express waiver of any other venue, however privileged.
